Caring and Storing

• Keep your jewelry away from household chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and cosmetics. Chemicals can cause tarnishing and damage to metals over time.
  
  
• All stainless steel based jewelry can be worn in water. However, constant contact with water and liquids can reduce the lifespan of your jewelry so we advise you to remove it when exercising, washing your hands, showering, swimming or doing anything that involves moisture. It’s best to remove pearl jewelry before any contact with water or liquids.
  
  
• Always remember that your jewelry should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off when dressing. Remove jewelry when sleeping.
  
  
• Store your jewelry pieces individually, you can keep them in our cherry bomb organic cotton pouch so that they don’t rub together, scratch or tangle. Ensure your storage area is dry. Avoid storing jewelry in humid areas, as moisture can accelerate tarnishing.

• Clean your jewelry regularly to remove dirt, oils, and other residues that can cause tarnishing.
  
  
• Use a mild soap solution (a few drops of dish soap in lukewarm water) and a soft brush or cloth to gently clean your jewelry. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. This helps maintain or bring back its shine. 
  
  We use delicate materials such as plated gold and silver, over time jewellery can fade naturally due to multiple factors including general wear and tear, exposure to moisture, chemicals and air. This is not considered a manufacturing fault.

18K Gold Plated Stainless Steel. Crafted from a sturdy base of 316 stainless steel, this piece is triple PVD plated in 18K gold for a lasting shine. Stainless steel’s durability makes it resistant to water and tarnishing, while its hypoallergenic properties ensure no green skin—plus, it’s free of lead and nickel.

To maintain its luster and extend its lifespan, we recommend minimizing exposure to water, liquids, and chemicals.

Is your jewelry truly "waterproof"?

"Waterproof" jewelry typically refers to pieces made from stainless steel, plated with gold through a process known as PVD coating. This technique enhances durability, especially when in regular contact with water.

However, it's important to note that while PVD coating significantly prolongs the lifespan of gold plating, it doesn't make it impervious to fading over time. In comparison, solid gold is the only material that's entirely waterproof, though it comes at a much higher cost.

For those who love to refresh their collection, gold PVD plated or gold-filled jewelry offers a more affordable alternative. Our jewelry is exclusively crafted from gold PVD plated stainless steel or gold-filled materials, ensuring that your pieces from Cherry Bomb will last for years with proper care, and won’t turn your skin green.

To maximize their lifespan, we recommend removing your jewelry before contact with water or chemicals whenever possible.
